No problem with asking questions. It's the idiots that roll in here like the know it all, build crap and say "what do you think", and then get all pissy when you tell them that what they just built was crap.....

Short pinion is 85-92. The housings are all the same, other than the 85-86 ones don't have the provision for a VSS. If you're re-gearing anyway, you're just a pinion yoke away from having a long pinion axle, I have a set of gears form a 93 in my 86 housing under the 460 pig. You can put 10.50 gears in a 10.25 too, just have to use the 10.50 pinion bearings. Most of the aftermarket gears sold for the 10.50 are 10.25 stuff anyhow.
