Sorry if this is a silly question- Looks like I may need to replace the batteries in my truck (they are the original in a 2004 with 50K miles). Anything special I need to think about when I buy them? I know, fitting in the battery holders is a concern, but what about buying "deep cycle" or other types of batteries on the market today? In the "old days" it was pretty easy, not much to pick from. Not the same story today.
I have 5 years on the RTOs in my X. Never had an issue with them or any of the other 2 Optimas I have. They are not cheap but I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. At 10°F to 20°F this year in MD, had no problem starting the X.
I have had a YTO deep cycle, that was in my former '94 T-Bird SC, for 7 years. For the last 3 years it has been in my 6'X12' Bri-Mar dump trailer. Never had an issue with it.
The other thing I like about Optimas is there is no lead-acid residue to corrode other parts.
I have the original set on mororcraft 750's in my 03. 2 months shy of 7 years. They are just starting to show signs of weakness.. So I am going to go for a new set of Mororcraft 750's. Why change if I'm having good luck with them..Just my .02

When I changed mine, same luck on the originals, moved to the 850's rather than the 750's. Price was the same.
Remember to change both and to change them one at a time, so you do not have to go through any "reprograming".
My original M/C's got me 3 months past warranty. Now have A/Z Duralasts. 3 yr. replacement 8 year pro-rated for 95 bucks. 1000 CA and 850 CCa with 150 reserve. A/Z's are everywhere and you don't need the receipt. You will be in their computer. Break down in Wilcox, Az. and try to fine an Interstate or Optima dealer that will give them to you under warranty.

Got my new set of batteries today. Motorcraft BXT65750. 114.95 ea I think it was a good price. Truck seems happy!!! So am I!!!
I have had good luck w/ the Motorcraft batteries. I have heard that the 750's are more durable than the 850's (don't know if this is true or not). I have been using the 850's and have been very happy with them (in my son's 7.3L and now in my truck).

I was going to go with the 850 dealer wanted same price for them. Dealer say better off going with the 750's. Said he gets much more 850's back than 750's. Well I great luck with the 750's anyway, 3 months short of 7 years, can't complain.lol
