Lightbulb Cargo light

Hey, I was thinking of adding a cargo light to my dent. I searched the threads, and found a few helpful, but several of them, the pictures were no longer there.

Is the wiring harness already there, and part of the interior light wiring harness, or do I need to add the wiring myself? I was not sure if the wiring/plug was already there like the ciggy butt & glove box lights.

I would love to see some pictures of your cargo light/switch set ups. I need the 73-77 model I think the part number is D3TZ-15500-A Could someone also give me the measurement for the in cab switch location? I am kind of a stickler for correctness, and want a factory look when I am finished.

Lastly, If someone has a cargo light/switch combo they wanted to get rid of, please send me a Pm, thanks.

The pick a part yard I usually go to had a complete setup for a '78/'79 last weekend when I was there. I'm sure it's still there. They are very reasonable with their prices.

The cargo light takes a different wiring harness than the standard interior light.
D3TZ-13A709-C, Wire assy. 73-77 F100-350 (regular cab) w/ cargo area light.
Harold, that is not the correct p/n for the cargo light assy, the correct p/n is D3TZ-15550-A.

Here is the illustration of the cargo light from the Ford parts catalog.
Unfortunatley they don't give the dimensions you need.

What is the serial number for your truck Tees77F150?

The Cargo Lamp changed mid-year 1977.

1973-1977 Before serial number Y60001: D3TZ-15550-A

1977 serial number Y60001 and after, and 1978-1979: D7TZ-15550-A

The good news is the D3TZ-13A709-C harness, will plug into the same place as the old dome light harness is now. Just unplug one and plug in the other.

Mine is the before Y60001, so I will need the 73-77 model light. Chad said he has the light and harness as soon as he rounds it up for me. He does not have a switch, which I will need to locate one.

Also I need measurements on the placement of the switch, some pictures would be nice too!!

I have seen a few that were just above the seat belt retractor cover. Then I saw a few that were just below the headliner trim on the B pillar. I want to be sure and put it in the factory location.

Dennis Carpenter (and I think LMC also) have the switch for the cargo light.

Yeah, I saw they are making the reproduction switches which are just like the originals, which is sweet. Thanks for the info Rusty Tub, could you post a picture of your switch and a measurement, it would be greatly appreiciated!!
