I like to be this way also. But favors are in luck for me lately, but I choose who I give favors to wisely.

I HOPE that when i do decide to hit the F-150 project again that they come out to help drop the engine, tranny, tcase, and gas tank in it.. haha. i'm sure i can count on at least 3 of my buddies to help me get it done. In my mind actual friends can seldom be counted on 1 hand, but i'm lucky to KNOW i can count them on 2 hands, but if you count out my brother and my stepdad then i'm down to probably 1 hand again. lol. i am fortunate to know which friends i can count on whenever i need them though and the ones to not even call when i'm in a bind. good friends are far and few between so when it comes to my friends i make sure to help them any way i can b/c i KNOW i will need them sometime and they have come through for me in the past. i'm sorry that this has happened to you Kris, but at least now you know not to count on him for much. it just sucks for it to be that way though.
I believe in this notion as well, however, I dont' believe you can count family on one hand, family should always be there for you, thus in a different category than friends.
You count your friends on one hand, the rest of the people you know are "buddies" or "Acquaintances"
Hell. I could still count my friends on one hand if i lost 2 fingers.

Wow! Now I feel old..... I've got to respect a guy who works for the things he's got. I count myself very blessed that I've gotten to where I am. I see people getting things for nothing all the time. What satisfaction can they possible get from that??? There are still those that are at least very thankful for what they've been given, but that's not the norm. There have been a few times I've had to tell a buddy no. Man, I hate that. I'd rather take a hit and help a guy out.

Not only that, but when are they gonna learn that mommy and daddy arent always gonna be there to put money on their debit card or bail them out when things get tough?

I feel where you guys are coming from. But hey look at it this way. People respect you guys for buying your own and earning your own. I sure do. The person i respect the most is my dad for making me look at life this way. He wasn't ever going to buy me my first car or anything like that. I did all that by myself and im still doing it. Paying college and PMSing all over the place. not the girly one. the truck one. haha and thats why i hang out here. you guys are all in the same boat so its nice to be able to come here and ask questions and just talk to guys who earn their way.
YES I AM NOT THE YOUNG ONE NO MORE!!!! But I know what you mean, I worked and did stuff, to get my PSD in all its 2WD glory, after I got it this boy just had to have his parents buy him a Ram 2500 Cummins, 4X4, then he had to have them put 3500 suspension on it, get a 5 inch exhaust, and all this other stuff. yeah he rolls coal, but I know my straight pipe exhaust I have I made it with what I had. Which was 4 inch exhaust from old school busses. I know I put my intake together, with 45 degree 4 inch exhaust elbow and a cone filter. I know I love my truck. I also know I got alot more respect from the sled pulling guys then him. But I know I have alot of respect for you guys, helping, and making jokes. But sorry to hear about it Kris, but you would have more fun with FTE guys then your other 'Friend'

hahaha ya exactly. I like to watch em bend, and if a cougars getting all contorted and chit they might break..... and I don't want to see that lol. Only benefit I see is that you don't have as much drama, it's still there but not as bad, and that alone may be worth the loss of flexibility haha.
