Pitman arm

Ok, I am wanting to know if any other years of ford trucks use the same pitman arm as the 78-79 3/4 4x4 trucks. I am wanting to do the 78-79 power steering swap. I am tired of the power assist. I bought it all new "rebuilt" from LMC and it is not what I want. It only steers to the right with assist and and it wonders to much on the hyway for me. I am trying to locate a power steering box ect to make the swap. I will be selling the assist to make it a little less sting on the swap.

The 78, 79 pitman arm is unique. However, it's pretty common. Several companies make dropped pitman arms.

Hey guys good luck on your swap. I just could not do it with out one more try on the power assit. Glad I did as it works perfect. I must have got a bad control valve from LMC. I was so long after I bought it they said I must of filled it with grease. I did no such thing but still no waranty. Needless to say I bought one elsewhere and it worked. Very happy I did not have to cut frame....yet LOL. Good luck!
