hey guys... i have a 94 f150... it used to have a 302 but we swapped in a 351 in its place... it still uses all the 302 wiring an computer.. i also had a chip made for the computer.. its been running good for months now.. but as of now i have an issue... the problem is intermitting... sometimes when i start it the check engine light will flash an the motor will idle up then shut off.. sometimes it starts an idles fine... other times when i pull out it does really want to almost like its missing... but when it reaches around 2500 rpm it just kicks in goes ... like i said its an intermitting problem... ive put fuel injector cleanor in it and also took the mass air out an cleaned it... i tried to pull the codes but the scanner wont read the computer i dont know if its because of the chip or not... ive pulled codes before with no chip... any help would be great
You are not stock with a chip so I can not help you.
You might go and see what help you can get from the chip manufacturer.
Other than that put it back to stock and if you have any more problems then you may get more help here.
I can't say this is the problem with your truck, but when my 95 5.0 did the idle up.check engine light flashing,it ended up being the PIP sensor in the distributor. The truck did this for about 3 months with no codes in the computer until finally it stranded me on the way home from the local dirt track one night. died and wouldn't restart. Came back a couple hours later,it started up,drove a couple miles, died again. Finally made it home, checked codes and the code for the PIP sensor was stored. I put a new motorcraft distributor in the truck,no more revving and check engine light, and the truck is dead nuts reliable now!! I put over 1500 miles on it deer hunting this year without so much as a hick up. like i said, can't say this is your problem, but i couldn't find much info on here about the high idle/check engine light flashing,it stopped after the distributor swap.
