Star that's not a long bed, long beds are 8 feet long. That's the 6 feet short box.
To bad you don't have your Lincoln anymore, slap that 460 in there and get rid of the ****ty gutless 302!

You are close but I want it lower geared with double over and a turbo.
What ever I do there won't be any place for a chip. lol
I could use a cummins but I would like to build a 6.9 up and keep it all ford, just use all the best stuff ford has. lol

Most of it is gone but it is a muddy mess. I was going to just take the semi to get this pickup, but it just went down. I was a little worried about towing it with the old ladys F150, especially today as we had high winds and freezing rain the first 60 or 70 miles, but that little 5.4 handled it great. I was suprised, I had never towed anything with it.
I did have a turbo in that list somewhere. Can't chip a 6.9 computer? It's hard to find where it hooks up sometimes...
Banks has a chip for the E4OD that's supposed to give better, crisper shifts.
With 4.10 axle gears, .71 E4OD Overdrive, and .78 GV OD-your effecive ratio is 2.66. At 2500 RPM with 31" tires, you're at 102 MPH in Double-OD.
Here's a nice chart - Gear Vendors Under/Overdrive Ford Truck-Car-Van 2-Wheel Drive 4-Speed and 5-Speed Automatics.
4.56 axle gears, and double OD puts you at 2.51 effective ratio. At 2500 RPM with 31" tires you're at 92 MPH.
3.55 axle gears: double OD puts you at 1.95 effective ratio. At 2500 RPM with 31" tires you're at 118 MPH.
I put 3.55's in there because when we took our cross country vacation, we drove through New Mexico and it was pretty flat. I figured you do a lot of open-range driving, and that you could just shift into 4lo for lower gears. I don't know that 3.08's are available for the front Dana 60, Otherwise I would have put those in the list.
What are you using the truck for Star?

It will eventually be my driver and hope to pull a boat and a fifthwheel quite a bit.
I am leaning on 4.56 gears if I can stay at or under 2000 at 70 I would be happy.
I will be checking to that type 4 cam though If I can get the power at 16 I would be happy. Also I stay in alaska more than here and plan to stay there all the time before long, so when I go any where I get into all kind of terrain and some of it serious hills, flat ground is too boring.
