Ok - potentially dumb question: do the dashes in our trucks unbolt? Or are they welded in?
The reason I'm asking is that my rusty 63 is, well, pretty heavily rusted. As in it rusted, was patched by the po, rusted out again, was patched over by a welder my dad hired to fix it in the early 90s, and is rusted more again! I'm looking at HOURS to strip, cut out & repair the rust, as you all know doesn't souind like a lot of fun.
But I just found a local, surprisingly rust free 63 cab... with a trashed dash (hatchet job for a radio). My dash is fine...
So the point of this babble is how hard would it be to swap my existing dash into my "new" doner cab?
I have a whole upper cowl/dash section I cut out of a parts truck, and I also have a 66 f250 thats getting ready to be cut up if you find you are in need of patch panels. Both can be shipped relativly inexpensivly through greyhound bus.

wait, if it's just hacked at the stereo, couldn't you just patch that hole? or is it that the whole dash was messed up?
my $.02 would be to cut out from your dash what's bad on the new cab and patch that. unless it was cut to out like corner speakers or something, it shouldn't be too bad
