the 6637 is an air filter that replaces the stock airbox and does a better job all together. as far as a boost regulator not sure about that one. do a search on "6637 install", and "ccv delete", you should find all you need. also i just did a 4 inch magnaflow turbo back exhaust and the difference in throttle response was amazing. the kit was 373 at summit, was cheap cause it came with some cheezy clamps and no tip, but in a pipefitter so ill weld it and i got a tip for 37 bucks. it fit ok and its all stainless. i did those 3 things to my truck along with wildman tunes in the last month and they made a huge difference in power.
6637 is a DIY cold air intake type set up. What type of intake do you have?
The CCV mod helps to eliminate the oil you will see in the intercooler tubes when one to remove the foil. Instructions are here Welcome to guzzle's CCV mod web page
As for the foil delete, there's fiberglass insulation under the foil that is stuck on with some form of miracle glue. You'll need some solvent or something to get that stuff off. That and the foil is SHARP and will cut you, so where gloves and be careful.
While you're playing around, check all 6 of those rubber boots on the intercooler plumbing and make sure none of them are loose.
A ported shroud compressor housing will help with surge and give you a much more pronounced whistle too, but the wicked wheel is cheaper if you don't mind the extra labor. And the wicked wheel is the same as all the other names you'll see, so one isn't any better than the other.
For boost, you can either watch the gauge and keep your foot out of it if you get too high, or you can put in a boost fooler. Just remember too much boost on a stock turbo and you'll be buying a turbo rebuild kit. You can either buy a boost fooler or make your own with some parts from the local hardware store. I'm sure someone has a link handy for that.
i ran the edge evolution on an older truck of mine and within a couple weeks i sent it to php. on my newest truck i have the ts with custom tunes from swamps diesel in la vergne tn. i checked with beans and they're great guys but their price was a little high on the re burn. swamps re tuned all 6 positions for 100 bucks and im very satisfied. since you already have gauges i would stick with the ts and just get new tunes. there is ton of potential from the different shops that re burn the chip. but thats just my opinion
Is the 6637 mod better than a k and n cai kit ? I finished the foil delete, ordered my turbo wheel and ts chip. I will send the chip to wildman after I install the wheel and do the ats ported housing. I am going to do the ccv mod and I finished my power steering flush with mobil1. Whats next ? BD waste gate actuator is also installed.

We've seen several issues with K&N filters. Mostly with the drop in replacement, but some on the CAI also. Mostly at higher boost levels the K&N allows too much dirt to pass thru and can kill your turbo or engine. Take the filter off and inspect the tube going back to the turbo. If you see ANY signs of dust inside the tube, switch to the 6637 or some other filter.
Either do the wicked wheel OR the ATS housing, not both.
They both are made to address the same thing, which is to change the boost curve to reduce turbo surge. The wheel pulls slightly less air, the housing has a larger intake and bleed ring. There's better things to spend your money on than doing both. Maybe a transgo tugger kit to firm up the tranny shifts.
Yes, but a chip can only adjust so much. The transgo kit changes out a few springs and drills a couple of holes (actually a lot easier than it sounds) as well as adding a plate to firm up the shifts. I've done the Transgo tugger on 2 different trucks running Tony's tunes, and know several others who have done the same. Just let Tony know about the tugger when you order the reburn.
Basically the same thing, you're just paying someone else to change the springs out for you inside the valve body.
More specifically, you're gettin a Sonnax kit installed in the accumulator valve body by John Woods. If you don't want to mess with changing springs yourself, then the valve body from Dennis (ITP) will work just fine. The Transgo tugger kit also does some modifications to the main valve body, but modding only the accumulator valve body seems to work well.
Just one note: If you buy a transgo kit DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from Oregon Performance Transmissions. They are a bunch of idiots that offer absolutely NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT if something is wrong with your order. They will even argue with you about how you don't know what you're talking about (happened to me). Transgo on the other hand is a stand up company. After arguing with Oregon Performance Transmission (OPT) for 3 days, I called Transgo tech help and they apologized and overnighted the missing part in my kit in less than 5 minutes of me having dialed their number.
If you search around the Transgo website, you'll find a video showing the install of the kit on an E40D / 4R100 transmission. Watching the video will make it seem easier than reading Mike's thread, so watch the video first.
dude edge is f@ckin junk *** ****, take that ts and get it custom tuned by someone, i recommend beans or cale (bts). don't sell you gauges and don't buy edge. oh jdecker the edge blow my tranny so and i'm from tn so i guess that counts as 3.
I have superchips ford max tuner and it was installed unfortunately at the time of my newly built tranny install and it killed it in 2 days. My tranny has all the goodies in the valvebody and pump to keep it from getting burned up but it didn't help. The valvebody kits were form superior as welll as the pump kits. BTW mine is a 97 e4od.
