i just installed 4 pioneer premier 6x8 3 ways nice lil speakers for the price ... if u want the best sound find a set of "plate" 6x8 they will mount the same but have the tweeter off to the side of the woofer
also im in love with that qcustoms box and i will have it when i can stop doing go fast mods
I have a late 99. I have been doing the initial designs on a box that will fit under the back seat for my 2 10s with an area in the middle to mount my 1100 Crunch Amp. I may end up picking the back seat up some, but I have an idea to fix that also. I just wish my wife would find her a 4Door truck so i could just pull the whole back seat out of my truck!!!!! nThat would solve the problem.
I just hate to give up the storage in me center console. I use that thing like crazy plus it would be nice to have cup holders in the back because quite often I'll have 2 or maybe 3 other people with me instead of 4. Also I don't think I'd like having the sub right next to my side due to the fact that it would probably be vibrating my gut if I was blasting the music and jammin out. Granted it's not very often that I do that but every now and then I get a wild hair and I'll jam out for about 30 minutes but that's about all I can take.
You must have buckets in the front, I have the seats. As far as the sub being close to you, I have friends that are really into audio and they have to ask me where my sub is, as it does not vibrate or rattle you due to its location. I was a little leery of the sub, cause I was switching from a 12" on my rear floor, but I am very happy with the JL Stealth box, and I can have passengers in the back!
Can someone confirm the front door speakers in my crew cab are 6 x 8? My front driver speaker is making a bunch of noises like it's going out. I don't need any upgrade, just a replacement speaker that works. If I knew what size to look for I'll pick one up next time I'm out running around.
I built a custom box for my extended cab, it sat under the rear seat, and had two 10 inch polks in there, plus a mounting area for two amps. Had MB quart components in the front, Alpine 6x8s in the rear doors, and the subs. Truck was super loud!
Polk subs are awesome, made a lot of noise. I still have that box, cant use it in my crew cab now though, its taking up space in the garage.
I am running Polks exclusively now in my HT setup. Very happy. Those are good speakers period. However, I got a deal on a Sony amp and Kenwood sub along with the capacitor. I now have a sub for an armrest. I still have enough cup holders. The rest was really a garbage collector once I looked at what was in there.

Hmmm, that almost sounded like this..."I have a speaker box sitting in my garage if anybody wants it..."....dunno where you're located or i might take you up on that offer...
Anyhow, I ordered the Polk speakers, thought I'd give them a shot, reviews seem to be good and ordered the sub box for behind the center console. I'll let you guys know how it goes but I'll be doing a bunch of wiring to try and clean the electrical up to the stereo system.
