I noticed the other day that the rear speakers of my reg. cab truck have a slight rattle in them. I've only had the truck a week, and its only got 750 miles on it. Anyone experience this problem?? I'll probably be at the dealer in a couple of weeks, and I'll have them look at it then. Are the speakers covered under the warranty?
I had a front start to rattle and dealer took care of it under warranty. Just find a song that really make it rattle, and let them hear that when you drop it off so they can't say "unable to verify concern." Ford's favorite line.
Unless new speakers will correct the problem at 750 miles they probably wont do anything about it. Most cases are from customers who treat thier cheap factory speakers like they are Cerwin Vega 12 inch woofers blasting rap at max volume levels. All speakers will have a point of distortion.
I havent blasted the speakers. I had the volume turned up close to half way on one song, and could notice it. I dont usually play any music louder than four or five lines on the volume level. Its not even a major rattle, just slight enough to hear. It may not even be the speaker that was rattling, it may have just been some stuff rolling around in the back seat. Im going to take everything out of the truck, and try it again to make sure that it is in fact the speaker.
Anything is possible, even bad speakers but unless they had a bad run of them and have a service message to replace them, then replacing them would not likely resolve the issue. Replacing a component only to have the same result is not going to achieve customer satisfaction and in fact may cause greater grief. They may have to wait for a service message that indicates an updated part which will resolve the situation. Or it could be something as simple as a loose screw or other hardware. I just dont want people to assume that just because you hear a little vibration that you should expect new speakers right off the bat.
I have a reg cab and thought my rear speaker(s) were blown out when I first got it too. Turned out to be the inside plastic door panel (rear door) was not completely snapped into place and was "buzzing" with the bass notes. I just gave it a hit with my hand and snapped it back into place. Problem solved. check it out you may have the same problem.
my door's rattle but i think that is becuase when i took the panel off the door to replace the speakers it may have loosend the panels becuase they never used to rattle this much , i might have to take the door apart again and stretch the pins out so the door sits tight again anyway this is probaly not your problem because with only 750 miles on the truck it cant be becuase of the door panel being loose, plus you havent even replace speakers yet.... what i dont get is why are there so many squeaks and rattles with almost all Ford trucks, i mean i dont like to bad mouth Ford especially on a FTE website but when make a truck that is as noisey as these are it is hard not to... dont get me wrong i love my truck i just dont like all the rattles....
