GETTING MARRIED!!

Tomorrow!

To top it all off, at an unknown date and time in the close vicinity of now, my new husband will be going to Haiti for a year or longer for a new job which is why, as of the notification he received Saturday, we've had one WEEK to plan this wedding, rather than the 14 months I originally had.

Here's a time line, for a laugh.

Saturday - notification that the job is a go, get phone call from old best friend's dad begging me to call her to find out she's getting divorced and even though she told me she didn't need me anymore months ago - wants to come to my wedding *ironic?*

Sunday - bought rings *who knew tungsten carbide was so damn expensive!*

Monday - call JP's office to get information on fees and scheduling, get ditched for dress shopping by old best friend

Tuesday - get license, pick up borrowed dress and shoes from lady at work, "forget" to call old best friend

Wednesday - call JP to confirm Saturdays date and find out JP's HOUSE BURNED DOWN!!! *are you kidding me?*, call preacher aunt in NEW MEXICO to see if she can still do weddings in TX *yes thankfully*, tell fiance's family she's a woman *church or christ don't believe a woman can be a minister so we had that phone conversation* go shopping for flowers for bouquet and stuff to make veil *spent less than 20 bucks*, try on borrowed dress *IT FITS BUT JUST BARELY WITH ASSORTED GARMENTS OF TORTURE UNDERNEATH!!!!* and ankle killer shoes, "forget" to call old best friend

Thursday - call aunt to confirm everything is go *just waiting for her car to break or something*, "forget" to call old best friend

Friday - JP calls back to say "I'm stuck in a hotel cuz my house in unliveable do you still need me to do your wedding, clean soon to be in-laws house because they're being generous enough to let us use their house *I have GREAT inlaws!*, tell old best friend it's family only cuz I'm still miffed about being ditched and it really is family only, get on FTE

So now I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop but I've got my old *granny's pearls* my new *ring* my borrowed *dress and shoes and house and and and and and * my blue *my engagement ring is a GORGEOUS tanzanite stone* and Brian spent like 45 mins looking through pennies for one with his year on it. I think I have everything covered for a thrown together before you leave and possibly get killed kind of wedding.

Think of anything I missed?

I'm surprised I still have HAIR on my head at all!

Well, with all the trouble to get everything done, it actually went off w/o much of a hitch. I mean, I forgot that with those heels he was going to be shorter than I am but then, the shoes were borrowed too so what else could I do. :-)

He started filling out paperwork for the new job last night to make it official so my 85% chance that he's going is now shifted to 95% and I'm still not thrilled with the idea. *shrug*
