Ok got a 2000 4x4 V-10 285-70-16 138,000 miles and the front spring are so bad they arch the other way. What swap should i do all around to get it riding good when i tow the bobcat and camper both close to 10,000 pounds cause trust me its like a tank and in all 3 lines lol thanks for the input. dont care bout the size of tire i need new ones lol
I tow a 10,000 travel trailer with a "heavy tongue" using stock V,B springs and 3.5" tapered block on rear. I also have added the Hellwig bar in the rear. The truck sits level with a 1400 lb hitch weight added to it. Even more importantly, the ride is really pretty good when towing. The 'older' 2003 with stock rear springs AND added air bags AND added Landyot radius rods had a pretty harsh ride in same situation.
After towing all the way to Florida and back (2500 miles towing), I have to say that stock V,B springs are the way to go. No one complained about the ride the way they did on the 2003 X. I still am working on a slight "wandering" issue--but I think it is the stock steering box, and not rear suspension (or ball joints) as it was on the 03.
For your V10, the V code springs on the front will sit a bit higher than mine (engine is lighter by about 500 lb, if I remember correctly). There is a chart on here somewhere that might recommend an alternative spring for front on V10.
okay what if I install only the V springs in the front and leave the factory springs in the rear? will it sit higher in the front then in the rear after installing the V springs? would I need to install a taller block in the back to level it out?
I am also getting ready to order Bilsteins and wanted to know do I just order factory length shocks with the V springs in the front?

Order the fronts for an F-250, and the rears for an Excursion. The rears have plenty of travel if you end up lifting the rear as well.

Stewart_H has done a great job describing what shocks need to be ordered. Do a search on his posts. He is really the expert and can put you on the right path on these questions.
Personally, I would not put Vs in the front without changing the rears at the same time. The original rear springs are too soft and allow too much axle wrap already. If you put a taller block on the rear, it will only exaggerate the problem. Go with Bs on the rear when installing Vs on the front.
....and yes the front will be higher than the rear if you only do V's. I did my front first and then drove it once that way just for the heck of it. It looked pretty goofy.
There's been a lot of talk lately about B codes, modified or unmodified. If I get a chance tonight I will post a close-up picture of my B's with the wheels off and the axle sitting on jack stands so you guys can see what they look like with the weight of the truck on them.

other than the dealer is there a cheaper place to get B code springs?
