E4OD convertor question

E4OD convertor question

Maybe stupid question but I can't find the answer for sure. Are the convertors the same in the e4od and the 4r100 tranny? Reason I ask is i found a supposed new suncoast tripledisc convertor that a guy bought for his 2000 powerstroke and I thought if it would work in my 97 I might be able to get a decent buy on it and grab it. Thanks

Somewhere Ford changed from 4 mounting studs to 6. I don't remember what year that happened. If yours is a 6 stud the converter will be a direct fit.

Not to contradict, but I stumbled across this article earlier today. Maybe you can decifer it for us . I am not clear on interchangability.
