I have a 5.4l triton, when i start it when its cold, the motor really races, like you ,had the peddle to the floor, is a really fast ,choke or start normal for these motors, ive had a garage run a diagnoists(sp) they said there was no problems ? no dtc codes. Thanks in advance
Thanks for the help bill 11012,well Ill try this one on ya,i bought a hypertech programer, i left the shift firmness,and top end,rev limiter,stock, and bumped my shift RPMS up 100 rpm, no gain in fuel mileage,, any suggestions on tuning for better fuel,, im getting about 15 around town,16.3 /16.5 -70-75 on the x way

I think that 15 city and 16.5 highway is about all you are going to get.
My V10 E350 gets 12 city and 14 highway normal driving, 13.5 city and 16 highway with gentle driving.
I don't know if you tow much but I run a K&N air filter that gets me better MPGs towing, but its the same empty.
You might want to try slightly firmer shifts, but any change will be very small.
Ive the the K&N air filter , I run mostly empty , its set up to tow ,but never do, just carry camping gear and dogs, kid,,So ill guess ill put the hyper tech up for sale , Thanks for the hand,,
