Sorry to start off with, but i have not gotten any replies in the trans forum. I am hoping that someone might be able to help me here.
Heres my problem i have a 67 ford with a 390 c-6 2wd. i had the trans rebuilt last year and have only put 200 miles on it when i rev it up or start driving it. it vibrates really bad usually above 2500 rpm. i pulled the trans and started the motor no vibration.
any body have an idea i would appriciate it. my thought is the torque converter.
I know nothing about an automatic, but revving the engine in neutral the vibration would have to be in the torque converter/flywheel area I would think.
If you just have a vibration present while driving, then I would look at U joints or possibly a bent drive shaft.
I have also seen several posts in this forum about the center of the flex plate cracking near the crankshaft on the diesel engine models.
You may have to go find a diesel truck, and get some really black diesel oil on your hands before we can help you more though.
Careful though, diesel oil black is infectious.
The only cure is buy a diesel and do regular 10 quart 3000 mile oil changes.

if it will occur in neutral and is gone with the trans out it is the torque converter out of balance ifit only occurs while teh truck is moving the driveline is the concern
