The 8 track stereo tape player for F100/350's was first offered in 1968. It was separate from the radio and fit into a compartment that bolted to the bottom of the dashboard.
This same setup was also used in some 1968/72 passenger cars.
Ford did not offer a tape player/radio combination in F Series Trucks or Bronco's until 1980.

You mean like this?
I worked on radios for years and rebuilt mine. I wanted to try to get mine looking from the time period of when it was made. I then added the FM converter that goes into a reverb unit from the 60s. It then goes to a booster and then to the speakers. I have a mp3 player that goes to the fm. So all I have to do is to save what songs I want to a usb drive plug it in and listen to what I want. The only piece I have not from within about the lime period of a few years after the truck was new is the mp3 player but it unplugs so it won't be seen. I am highly satisfied with this setup, reverb units have a distintive sound.
