Man that is so awsesome. I want them. I have the lights but don't want to pull then headliner out to add the wires need it. I want to make my cab lights flash like the lights on some of the F450 dump body when I'm plowing.

What you mean two extra small gauge wires to the lights? Leave them so I can put a LED in the lense with the light bulb?

No If I'm reading it right he means 2 extra wires to the 1st light. I think they are wired in a line, 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and so on. Like christmas lights. The 2 extra wire are for the blinking unit he will be giving you. That way the lights will have 2 power supplys. 1 to stay on when the lights are on and the second for the blinker.

its 2 extra wires per light, all the negatives can be tied together(not to the running lights, keep them seperate),but the positives need to be alone. my "box" gets its power from the glove box light. any mor questions just ask

So it does mean to add the 2 extra wire I have to pull the head liner. In that case how hard is that to do?

i just took off the windsheid and door trim and pulled it down just enough to get in there. not hard, yes it is 2 extra wires per light for the leds, lable the wires so you know witch light they go to. the programe is written on each light having a number 1-5 right to left or left to right.

That's pretty neat! Pretty cool you're using a PIC to control it. Which one are you using? I've done alot with the '877.

You could setup a PWM routine to fade them on and off. I helped a buddy of mine set up some LED's on his bike that were controlled by a PIC. He used tri-color super brights and positioned them all over the bike. Seeing them shining on the chrome and such, well, it looked awesome!

You could get real geeky and have them count 5-bit binary

Reps your way.

It's a PIC 18F1330-LF, it has a really good set of PWM channels that I thought about using but haven't gotten around to implementing. We thought about putting some of the RGB tri-color LEDs in there as well, but didn't have any bright enough. The bike sounds really cool, do you have a video of that?

No, I don't have any videos of it. It was really cool though. He ended up getting rid of that bike a few years ago. I think he ended up with something like 60 LEDs on it.

Have you checked out these tri-colors? They're the ones he used and were pretty bright.

I've used the 16F877A quite a bit both at work and for home stuff.

My F250 didn't have an outdoor temp display so I rigged one up with a PIC and a sensirion temp/RH sensor. The button on the left allows me to toggle between outdoor temp, outdoor RH, indoor temp, indoor RH, and battery voltage. I never look at anything besides outdoor temp but its still cool I have it set to warn me if the battery drops low.

The button on the right allows me to change between three brightness levels.

No, I don't have either of those mods since I have a gasser.

That does look like a cool gauge!
