Strobes

Blueovalbud expressed interest, and others might as well.

Strobes.wmv - YouTube

I used LED strobe lights from eBay (Chinese specials) and a Sho-Me controller.

Total cost: about $55

The front lights are super glued to the grille. I hid the wiring behind it and grounded the lights to the area by the hood latch.

The rear lights use two lights like the fronts and my LED taillights. I use two diodes per side to prevent backfeeding between the strobes and brake lights.

Post up with questions...

YES!! Thank you!

What are diodes, and what do they do?

There are basically two kinds of diodes. One lets electricity go one way but not the other and there is a zener which will let current come back once it is at a curtain level. Voltage regulators use ones like this........There is another way to strobe your marker lights and brake lights with out using diodes. You can wire a 5 pin relay wired backwards and do the same thing. Turn signals can be done also but it takes two of them.

Oh ok, I see now. Diodes are available at like a Radio Shack or something?
And what about this 5-pin relay wired backwards?

Right this down Blue...Some people have trouble with relays only because they are not familiar with them.....Five pin relay....You have pin numbers 85 and 86,87,87A and 30. 85 and 86 is your control circuit or switch circuit for your relay. Doesn't matter which one gets the ground and 12volts. Not polarity sensitive. The 30 pin is generally used for your source voltage. The 30pin is latched to the 87A pin without any voltage or ground to the 85 or 86. Meaning it is not turned on. When you kick the relay the 30 pin latches to the 87 pin and the 87A is out of the loop. Great for controlling two items with one switch that you don't want on at the same time or, the normal use, is to control high load with a light load switch. With these strobes you are doing this backwards. You wire your light to the 30 pin. Run your strobes through the 87A so they will come on when your relay is not energized. To make your brake lights or marker lights work when you want them on and not the strobes is to run your brake light switch or marker light switch to your 87 and 85 or 86 pin so when you hit your brakes, for example, you send brake light voltage to your relay ,which turns it on. When it is turned on the same voltage that is on your 87 pin then goes through the 30 pin to your lights. 87A is now out of the loop and your strobes for the brake lights are out. Marker lights will work the same way. Make sense?
