Edge Evolution and tow/haul mode

Hello all, here is a question I cannot seem to find an answer to just yet. I received the Evolution yesterday from the UPS driver and I am looking forward to installing it this weekend. I was just wondering- since the "newer" Edge products do actually affect the way the transmission works (depending on what level you are in), how will that affect using the tow/haul mode when I am pulling my fifth wheel? I like the tow/haul mode especially when going down a long hill. Anyone with experience on this one?

Thanks, Glenn

The base function of tow/haul mode should not be affected. If it is then I would suspect there is something hinky with the programming.

Sorry I didn't get to it sooner. It was a good thing you bumped it up otherwise I would have missed it. Yesterday was a busy day.

I would think calling Edge would be the first place you'd want to contact. They made the product, so they should know.

I have not noticed much difference. My tranny seems to hold the same on downhill grades regardless of which setting I choose on the evolution. Although I've never tried the #4 setting. And for the most part, leave my truck in the stock setting.

I do have the exhaust brake on my truck and use it often for long downhill 6-7-8% grades when I'm towing. When I remember to flip the switch. The B&D Exhaust brake that I have, shuts off the cruise control when it's turned on. So I don't always use it since I like to use the cruise when I'm on the open road.

IT_Dude, I really value the input of folks on here. As I am sure you know, sometimes the manufacturers will tell you what they want you to hear.

I have not noticed any difference in TOW/HAUL mode on my truck...works as it always has. I have only used level 1 and 2 on my Evolution. Hope this helps.

2005 F150 with CTS 2

When you guys are in tow/haul mode, do you have a loud noise when pressing the throttle slightly above cruising and it sounds like a binding noise? I installed mine today and was trying out the settings and I'm not sure if the way the truck runs is normal with that setting. I have the proper gas in the truck as well.

If you have GAS in a 6.0 diesel you have a very BIG problem!
