This happened to me 4 wks ago. First, they replaced the dummy plug on the back of the head I believe is what it said? That still didn't work so then they determined there was an o-ring on the HPOP that was leaking. That fixed it. Ill re-type the work order they typed up when they fixed it when I get home.
My symptoms were crank right up... Drive to subway... Turn truck off in the drive thru, then it would just turn over and turn over but not start. Let it sit for 10 min, then it would usually crank. Its embarrassing lol .
Check and advise on VEH taking a long time to start when engine is warm. Turns over but will not start.
CCC D03 CC D8 Found leaking dummy plug on left bank and STC at HPOP leaking. Hard start when cold is from injectors 2,5,6 sticking when cold even after latest calibration was installed in PCM.
Verified concern. Truck is hard to start when cold and runs rough. After truck warms up idle smooths out, when turned off truck will be hard to start. KOEO PASS KOEC P2291 KOER PASS. PPT Diag and Diesel Diag lead to air pressure test. Air pressure test shows no audible leaks. Removed valve covers and retested. Found O-ring on left bank leaking on dummy plug. Replaced dummy plug and re air tested. Found air leak at STC fitting. Removed HPOP and replaced STC fitting. Retested. Cleared codes Reset KAM and test drove. Retested. After cold soak over night, truck still runs rough when cold and blows white smoke. Power balance indicates cylinders 2,5 & 6 dropping out. Replaced injectors 2,5 & 6 and reprogrammed PCM to latest level. Test drove and retested after cold soak. Repair complete.
