OK, the truck runs great. It only has 115000 miles on it. Stopped at station to fuel up, then it would not start. Finally got it started. It ran great all day. Every time you kill the engine for a short while it wont start back. I noticed that the oil pressure was not building up after turning engine over. It has good oil pressure when. It is running. Any suggestions???
I know a Jerry Wallace in S. Tx. - thought that I might be able to help if you were that person. The STC fitting is the most likely issue if the leak is big enough for the low pressure oil pressure to "not build up".
One question tho, if there was an oil pressure problem would the engine still run OK after start up? Also, it starts in the morrnings. I am sorry for all the stupid questions. I work on big trucks and equipment, don't know much about Ford injection system.
When the oil gets warm, the viscosity lowers. At 4000 psi, it will leak more when hot than when cold. That is a classic symptom of a HPO leak. The engine is hard to troubleshoot at times, so that is the reason for getting the readings I suggested. There is a "No Start troubleshooting" thread in the Tech Folder. You can find other troubleshooting suggestions there, but getting the truck scanned for codes and then collecting operating data is always the best way to go.
Can you explain your statement below a little better?
" I noticed that the oil pressure was not building up after turning engine over."
