Just to clarify, vehicles from the factory with HID lights, are those a different kind? I don't think they would come from the factory with illegal equipment.
Yes, high end vehicles such as Mercedes, BMW are equipped with HID's that are 4100k. These are three times brighter than equipment found on lets say a ford. bmwusa.com
hey, ive been pulled over for stupider reasons. just because there is a cop at my window, doesnt mean i have to surrender all my rights. my sister is a cop, just an FYI. she loves my lights. in a small backwoods town were i live i want all the help i can get when it comes to backroads at night.
Just because she's a poor excuse for an LEO and ignores the law she is supposed to uphold (based on her personal opinion) doesn't mean you're justified in breaking it.
On the other hand, I assume your sister is a cop in the town where you live, so you really don't have anything to worry about, right?

call it what you will. yes she is a cop in my town. and no i dont have anything to worry about. as for the other comment about 4000k being brighter than 10000k, that may be true but i also have 4 100watt locomotive lights mounted on the front of my truck, but i didnt know that the lower kelvin was brighter but im still happy with my purchase.

So you're saying you are happy with an inferior product that is not road legal?
One small bit of advice. Locomotive lights work really well on locomotives. Airplane landing lights work well on airplanes (and even then there are some issues). A product tuned for your application is like having the right tool for the right job. Yeah, you can do it with something else but the time, effort, and result will be different.

so what is the difference between some offroad lights i can buy from wallmart vs the ones i got from and old locomotive for free? they both are made to light up the world in front of you.

yes i am very happy with it. look, i never asked to be put on the spot just because i choose to add some lights to my truck. im sure if i added some spinning rims, yall wouild say somthing about that. you can never please everybody, but 2 years ago i did get in a bad wreck, it was at night, and the lady said she never saw me coming. well now i bet she could see me coming now.
You do what floats your boat. Nothing wrong with that but the problem is when it affects others on the road. We are saying that you can have an efficient lighting system that doesn't affect others on the road.
Your orginal thread title was better and this thread is closed.
