Anytime the abs light is on, it will not operate. the brakes will stop the same. i seriously doubt that there is any connection between the hid's and the abs. just coinsidense. your gonna have to get it checked with a scanner to pull the code. how'd the lights turn out? are they putting the light to the ground or is there the typical tons of glare? did you adjust your lights down a bit?
The lights are great> No glare from my point of view. I got the 4300 lights. They are very bright and no blue in them.
As for the ABS, I fixed it. I had attached the ballast to the ground screw in front of the passenger side battery. I removed the ballast from there and put it on a different screw and the ASB light went away and the speedometer started to work again.
I have no friggin' idea how they are related but it's OK now. The lights are really great.
Since the speedometer is fed from the ABS control module and your speedometer and ABS were out, the ballast was probably injecting "something" on that ground circuit the control module didn't like. It is strange though since the module is grounded in front of the Drivers side battery, not the passengers, any way glad you fixed it.
