I would buy them unless you can find a better deal. I got lucky and found my set for 650 iirc, and dad payed half because he wanted the sterling. I tried to explain to him that he was an idiot for doing that, but he wouldn't listen. So I paid ~300 for my d60.
Hello,I have not posted on this forum before so hello to everyone.I love Dana 60s.IMOP that is to much $$$$.I paid 500. for the axle on the trailer,of all places ebay.It is 80s kingpin aparently dual front scared em off lucky meee.It was local to so I picked it up.Be patient your dream axle is out there.There is a 1990 whole truck with 460 on CL here for 1500.
I have a 85 dually D60 in the front of my wheeler, Picked up whole running pickup for $1000.. Took the axles out, sold the Diesel motor for $500, and sold the cab for $500... So mine where free....

ya your was a cheaper cause its newer, i want a 79 for mine cause i have to coil spring convert it. and im in a hurry so im gonna get them, i just saw one same year just nice and painted go for 1400 on ebay, so i feel like im getting a fair deal for mine. dont have the time to wait
not trying to be an ******* but does everyone think its a pretty good deal? im not looking for a homerun, just a set of axles that i can build?

Have 800 in your pocket and 200 in your wallet. Pull out the stack of 100s and offer 8 because they are really rusty, not the original tie rods and not the factory steering arm on the driver side. If he says no say 9. If he says no again whip out the 1000 and take your axles. He doesnt have to know you dont plan on running factory steering or have the ability to sand blast the thing.
