You've got yourself a deal.

D60's around here run anywhere from 800-1200 bucks. The rear about 150.

Sounds about right for the $. Get ready to spend lots of money in building it. Ive got bout $4000 into mine.
-$500 axle(cheap)
-crossover steering$500
-hydro assist $400
-Detroit locker$700
-gears/install kit $500
-rotors,wheel bearings$200
-35 spline stub axles/ujoints$500
-warn premium 35 spline hubs $310
-warn stainless skid plate$100
-tie rod over flip$100
no additional costs on labour I did it all icluding gear setup which was my first time and has had no issues after hard abuse
Lots of fun depending on how far you want to go

well my plan so i can get this truck is only to lock the rear right now, and i tihnk im just gonna stick with 4:10s because i still wanna be able to drive the truck around easily. also i was looking at the add again and it said the rear is a 80' sterling, not quite sure what that is... i have herd people talk about there sterlings on here, but im not sure if its the same one or not? thanks alot............ya i just talked to the guy on the phone and he said he thinks its a sterling 10.25 is that a good set up?

Id be cautious that it is/isnt a matched set.

Sterlings werent available until 87 (I think), predating the "king pin i think its a 79" by 8 years. Nothing wrong with the later kingpin D60s but the 78/9s are far more valuable.

The driver side axle tube is longer on the 78/9.

If they are a match set (out of the original vehicle) and that rear is a sterling, It is out of a 86 or up, the sterling will bolt into 70's-90's trucks so it could have been swapped in at some point. You need to make sure, because the pumpkin is in a different spot on the newer trucks. it is about 4-6 inches further to the left then the 70's. The 70's up until 91-92 all have kingpins and other then the placement of the pumpkin there is no strength difference nor is one better then the other unless it will not fit your application
