Tailgate step and handle

Tailgate step and handle
My 2010 STX has a factory bed liner with the handle and tail gate step. I was wondering if the handle sticks out that much from the inside of the tailgate with the liner removed. Eventually i want to have a spray-on liner installed.

Does it look descent with the tailgate not sprayed and the plastic on it next to the bed?
