Magna Flow Exhaust

I was thinking about putting a Cat back SS magnaflow exhaust on my 09 FX4 5.4 and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them? They claim to boost torque and power can you really feel the difference? How about the sound as well? I'm not really looking for a real loud sound or nothing just mainly a nice throtty one.

I can answer your question somewhat. I say this because I bought a maggie muffler and had a shop install it, also since it's on a 4.6L and also because it's a dual in dual out so its a little different setup. The Magnaflow system probably boosts power/torque but I don't think I can notcie the difference although it's been so long since I had it installed that I can't remember.

Your setup shouldn't be that loud. They have a nice low rumble. The best setup for the money if you ask me.

had single in, dual out mag turned down on my 06 5.4. good sounding muffler, not sure on performance differences as i mainly kept my foot out of it, but not loud on the highway and a good sound in city. im sure if you have it exit out the rear it cut down on cab noise considerably, but ive always had mine turned down about 8 inches out of the muffler. A LOT milder muffler than the flowmaster 40 series i have on my 09 right now, as it will jingle spare change around in my cupholders.

I have Magnaflow on my 2000 5.4 and my Mustang... Sound is throaty and not too loud at low RPM's. Gives a nice "crack" when you get on it though. From everything I've read, you probably won't gain much/anything over the stock system though. I really like the sound of the stock system too... Have you listened to your truck from outside? I was by the tailpipe when my wife started it and really liked the throaty sounds coming from the tailpipe. I hadn't noticed how good i sounded from inside the truck, probably because the cab is so well insulated.

Yes magnaflow does sound good, and a nice sound while driving. Magnaflow can say you can get so much power and MPG's from there kit, but it all depends on how you drive and the truck. I really don't think the numbers aftermarket companys give are true. They give high numbers so you will buy it. I have in stalled a few magnaflow kits on 2009 f150s at the ford dealer I work at, and they do sound good. The dual setup takes about 2 hours to install.

Thanks for all the opinions I really appreciate the advice and will let everyone know what I decide on when I get it. I'm leaning to towards the one into two exiting out behind the rear wheel like the lightnings.
