4R70W or 4R100

I need to change out my transmission in my 2002 E250 van.
According to the pan sizing it looks like I have a 4R70W tranny.
Can I replace the 4R70W directly with a 4R100 or will it need modifications.

Thanks
Daryl

UH, not sure your ECM will accept it, not to mention the plugs could be different.

Thanks

Hey thanks for the info. I checked on other sites and found out the same information. I will go for installing another 4R70W.

A little late but i thought the 150 got the 4r70 amd the 250 and 350 got the 4r100. There should be a sticker on the drivers pillar when you open the door. Check the trans code on the sticker to see what you should have.

Good luck,

Brian
