Can you convert to rear brakes without changing the proportioning valve or the master cylinder?

from what i've researched the stock proportioning valve keeps a small amount of pressure in the rear brake system because it takes more movement to engage rear brake drums. Now with the discs in the rear if anything I'd just get rid of the valve completely. I had to put on an adjustable prop valve because it would lock up easily but that was with hydroboost, a much more powerfull system. If your running a stock booster you may not have as much of a problem.
