Hey everyone, I was just curious if anyone knew what type manual transmission was used for the 1966 f250 trucks( I have a v8). I did some research and found that a bw t18 four speed was used and that a np 435 was also used. I have a t18 in my truck now but I read in a facts book that this transmission was used only for the inline six and the np 435 for the v8. Don't ask about the warranty plate, the door came from a 64 f350.

Welcome to FTE
What facts book would that be? It certainly isn't anything FoMoCo had anything to do with!
Let me guess, it's that worthless Red book. Whoever wrote that thing should be tarred and feathered and run oughtta town on a rail, as it's full of errors and omissions.
T-18's & NP435's were used with the 240/300 I-6's and the 352.
The T-18 was used with 2WD only.
The NP435 was used with both 2WD & 4WD, and is far more common than the T-18 with 2WD.
Thanks for the quick replies. I had a feeling that the Illustrated facts and features book was misleading. It's about as usefull as the wiring schematics literature, I had to trace out the wires myself, different colors than book, and draw-up new diagram. It's funny that they do not include any of the options in the point to point connection diagram. The main reason I was really asking is that the shifter handle goes to the dash in first and reverse( bent shifter handle or bad transmission?)
