np435 vs t18

Hey guys i was wondering whats a better overall transmission, a NP435 or a T18, I have a NP435

They're both great, bomb proof transmissions. I can't really say one is better than the other.

as far as i know all the NP435's had a really low first gear, about 6.3 to 1......Some variants of the T-18 were a closer ratio, Jeep and IH used a close ratio T18. Both are super strong.

I've had both and think they are just about equal.

IIRC, the 435 has a slightly lower 1st (6.69 vs 6.34) but driving it, the difference is negligible.
