np435 vs T19
how can i tell if i have a np435 or a T-18/T-19?
truck is a 81 f150 4x4 3006cyl, 4 speed with granny low.
I thought the np435 was the only granny low transmision in these trucks but now people say it could also be a T-18/T-19
now can I tell without pulling it?
is the T-18/T19 a durable transmission?

I'm just a late bloomer but here goes. The NP 435,atleat mine has an aluminum top cover Non syncro first gear, and YES The T-18/19 are EVERY durable my friend has a twin turboed 6.9 87 F250 sled rig maken 500+HP and 0 trouble ftom his t-18Now clutches are a diffrent story!

Hey guys, I am trying to post some pics. I have t18s. My camera keeps taking too good of pics
Anyway, the t18 is every bit as good as an np435. They are durable and have a cast iron top, and are (usually) marked with "13 01" somewhere on the case. On my 2wd one it is cast on the tail shaft on the pass. side.

If you do a search for Novak conversions there is a picture under tech info / transmissions that shows all of these together. The T18/19 look the same - I believe the T-19 has two p.t.o. covers versus only one on the T18.
