Blown Plug - time-sert vs dorman 42025

Sorry to hear that . I checked it out at dorman.com . It appears to me that it is a Helicoil style repair kit that screws in a spiral-wire . I doubt that it would work on tapered spark-plug hole application .Helicoil would not work for the same reason .
Your better bets :
1- Timesert ( you obviously aware of it ), this is a steel insert
2-Check fulltorque.com ( they are supposedly Ford Mo.Co. approved ) an aluminum insert
3-Blownoutplug.com ( a mobil company that comes to you for repair using their own method ).
let us know what year engine ?
Good luck,
Ken

Dorman Help Cylinder Head Repair Kit 42025
Suggesting the following: compressed air, parts cleaner, small wire brush, vise, 17MM Craftsman deep, 17MM regular with OD no larger than the Craftsman (or something to fish it out of the hole with when it binds deep in there), 9/16 deep, red thread locker, anti seize, dielectric grease, hose to start the plug, step stool.
Clean the inside threads of the adapter kit, use a vise and run the spark plug all the way in to clean out the protective stuff and be sure the plug is positioned properly then remove it.
Blow out plug area. Apply red thread locker and use a piece of paper towel to hold the kit in the 17 MM short socket. I could not start it with the deep socket. Seat it fully with the 17MM deep. Anti-seize the plug and start it with the hose then tighten with 9/16 deep.
Apply dielectric grease liberally to the new boot/spring assembly and coil connector.
The blown plug probably broke the mounting tab off the coil so plan on replacing it if necessary.
This was on the 1999 V-10 #8 cylinder. I did not have to remove anything except the air intake to access it.
Let the red thread locker cure 24 hours before turning the key.
