Re-thread blew out
Have had the truck for 6 years at 200 thousand miles my first plug shot out. So got the timesert kit and worked great then like two more blew out. fixed those as well. The first one i fixed blew out again with the insert still on the plug. Can i use the time sert twice in the same whole or once only. It lasted 20 thousand miles with the timesert on it. other two are still good. Has around 228 thousand miles on it. Should i just give up on it or can it be fixed without putting a new head. Thanks for the help.

yeah, I've heard Timesert has oversized inserts, mostly to fix the Heli-coil or other insert screwups people do, but in this case, I'm sure it can be used to fix a bad timesert.

Yes I did it lasted for like 2 years then all of a sudden other 2 are still holding. Seen the other timesert so go8ng to have to order it.

Something wasn't right with the install of the original timesert if it blew out. The bore was probably too big for the timesert that was installed. It can be difficult to see when doing an in truck repair.
