Beautiful wood work! I like the 1/4 sawn oak. There is very little native white oak left here in Maine. It was heavily cut down in the shipbuilding days. It is an excellent choice for rot resistence.
I restored a 38 Woody in my past and had to bulid about 60% of the structural wood new (maple). One pic in my gallery.
What is the drivetrain in your F-1?
Wow, That is really something different. It must have taken a lot of planning to make that happen. I have never seen anything like that. There is a guy around here in Syracuse that has wooden running boards on a F1, but you have taken the idea to a whole new level...Great job, can't wait to see that finished. I'll bet you stay out of the rain with that truck.
Beautiful work, Henry would be proud....
Jeff
That's beautiful work! You will need to keep going with your wood work in creating some display cases for the trophies that your truck is going to collect at the shows. Couldn't help but recall the tons and tons of sand, gravel, coal, corn, hog feed and manure I have shoveled from the bed of my dad's old '51 F1 so many years ago. I would be interested to see a picture from the back sometime showing what you have done with the tailgate. The teaser photo from the back corner has me curious about what you have done to it. Great work! Thanks for sharing.
