How do I test eec power relay?
My 1987 F250 460c.u. truck is not getting fuel. I listened for the fuel pumps running and heard nothing. I have 2 tanks so I checked to see if there was power to the tank selector switch and I do not have power to any of the 6 terminals. Also, I have one full tank and one empty tank and when I switch between tanks my fuel gauge does not move. I then checked the fuel pump relay and it is not clicking. The fuel pump relay has one constant power wire but there is no signal power going to the relay when you turn the ignition on. I then checked the eec power relay and it has one constant power wire but there is no signal power when the switch is turned on. So I think I narrowed the problem down to whatever sends the signal to the eec power relay. When I turn the ignition switch on, the radio, heater, etc. has power as it should except the eec power relay. I pulled the ignition switch out and it looks like there are one or two brass contacts. What can I look for now? Do I need a new ignition switch? What wire do I look near the ignition switch that sends a signal from the ignition switch to the eec power relay?
