tranny and speedometer question

is there a way to switch the speedometer (If replacing with a modern one) to be an electrical sensor instead of cable driven without changing the tranny? more of a general automotive question that i'm just curious on

Yes use a ford pulse adapter from a late model ford. Or an aftermarket one form autometer or SW.
