C-6 Gear Speedometer Question

Is there a metal speedometer gear inside a C-6? My tranny seems to only have the plastic gear that is attached to the speedometer cable. I don't see a metal gear inside the tranny? Thanks

no metal, there is a plastic gear on the output shaft inside the tranny

C6, 2wd, has the drive gear rolled into the output shaft. 4x4 has no gear at all its in the transfer case.
