They are not moose proof they usually save the rig but not always. I have seen a couple trucks still be totalled with one.
Star, moose-proof in this case means it has survived a moose encounter - will it handle another one, well that depends mostly on the size of the moose, it may or may not, but honestly I ain't really all that eager to find out But all this is getting way offtopic...
If you seriously wanted to get more power out of your rig than you do now, you would have already done at least some research about it. The fact that not only have you not done so, but you haven't even bothered with proper instrumentation to protect your engine. Tells me that you don't give a ***** other than to look cool.
Used turbo kits are very easy to come by (I've owned two of them. $250 for one and $400 for the other). The funny part is, it will about match your friend's 1993 truck. With a little work, that would be a good looking, reliable rig if you spent some time at it.
Plenty of support and information on this site with many good people around to help. A little negative on the first few posts, but these guys do speak the truth. I'm only 20 and I've learned multitudes from these good folk over the past 5 years.

most of the folks around here dont want the smoke rolling because if enough people do it it can cause emissions laws to spark if enough people complain.so just to warn ya these guys can get growly when it comes to the subject of "rollin coal"
i promise to be more than fair dave no worries its a good thing im a mod dave s hasnt been around in 4 or 5 days
I know, had to give you a little hell though lol! Its good that someone is around to keep us all in line when Dave S is out playing in the snow. Wish him luck as I heard on the news its gonna drop almost a foot in his region.
Dieselkid, I don't mind the smoke so much when I see a truck hard at work, can't really help it then. The jerks doing it just to fool around and smoke people out walking along the street is what ticks me off!
Rollin Coal is for steam locomotives, not a street driven diesel. Still can't understand it, higher temps, and wasted fuel out the pipe. It doesn't look cool and doesn't mean your making big ponies. While I'm at it, those big diameter stacks are retarded, It reminds me of the saying, Throwing A hotdog Down the Hallway. Totally unecessary, If you want the big rig look, drive a big rig.

i have a single 5" pipe.lol it was suppose to lower exhaust temps it actually made the exhaust cleaner sounding as well and when i let in warm up i the morn the neighbors dont complain about the diesel fumes
Hard to put a cabover camper on a truck with stacks. I do like the way they breath better when done properly but losing any part of the pickup bed is just not an option for some of us.
