I also agree with you guys! We have enough kids around here tuning their rigs to blow smoke with the lightest touch of the pedal. People are starting to complain to me about my "old diesel" polutting. I have mine turned up 1/2 a flat and a cowl intake and it only smokes on wot. It really p***es off when people roll smoke to be cool and give the rest of use a bad name. I figure that I can pull about what they can with out all the modding but just not as fast. Aleast i will still have an engine that runs a couple years from now while they are down.
well my truck has been turned up this far for, lets see 4 years and starts and runs better than it did before. hey guess what. im going to throw in a set of 7.3 injectors soon. to get even more smoke and power.
Nobody has ever denied turning one up over factory specs does not give you a little more power it does but your best power is where it burns clean ay all but wide open throttle it will smoke a little when you shift until the rpm's catch up and it gets enough air to burn the fuel.
It doesn't take a brain surgeon to know you get no power, zilch, nada from pouring a bucket of diesel on the ground. It might be just be possible that if you tuned it up right you wouldn't even want to sell it. Why do you want to sell it if you were close I would give you 800 unless it is a total pos, I haven't seen many running pickups that aren't worth that and have given much more than that for dead ones for parts.

i want to sell it to get a better pickup. this was my first vehicle. i paid for it i did the work to it and now its time to get a better one. my buddy has a 93 f-350 CC long bed 5 speed factory turbo 7.3 that he's willing to sell for 4K it only has 100K on it.
but until i can afford it im going to buy a car that gets great mileage
It would seem that no matter how many times this person is told "it is wasted fuel not power" they will not here it. I think they are getting a kick out of getting or ire up. There for why not just avoid this threard in the future?

Rupejosh, methinks we should start treating the rolling coal issue like the guys at FSB treat emissions equipment removal on street trucks - nearly automatic delete! And this guy having like 200 post should know better by now, but he's still acting like an arrogant a-hole!!!
Hey Blueovals&Blacksmoke and Dieselkid, since ya'll both seem to lack power, if I ever get stuck behind ya'll on a long uphill I'll make sure I help ya'll pick up some speed - hell ya'll can even put yer trans in neutral and let me do all the work Just make sure yer trucks can actually survive the gentle kiss of my moose-proof front bumper

the reason im an " arrogant A-hole" is because i know where i stand on issues and know 90% of the time what im talking about
Well this situation obviously falls in the 10% where you don't know what you're talking about And I didn't say you ARE an arrogant a-hole, I don't know you so I can't say that, I simply stated that you behave like one - there's a difference there, albeit somewhat subtle

i know what you said and i was meerly stating the fact that on some issues, i am an arrogant A-hole
any pics? i think it would take one heck of a bumper to be 'moose proof' lol
It's on a road tractor that used to run north of Fairbanks well before the road conditions were as nice as what you saw in season 3 of Ice Road Truckers. A pickup truck is not heavy enough to install anything moose-proof on it, if the bumper survives the impact the frame will likely fold.
