What would be better pipe size to put on a 2004 f-350 v-10 3" or 3.5"???
Also where can I find a GOOD Y pipe?? Or would it be better to leave the stock Y in?? I'm going to doing my Exhaust very soon, just don't know the size of pipe to run, and don't know if the Y pipe is worth it.If anybody has these options on their truck let me know if ya like them or what you would prefer.. Thanks
I have an 01 250 and installed gibson headers that dump into individual 2.5" pipes then where the stock cat was i installed two shorty 3" converters and proceded to install 2 3" in and out magnaflow triple chamber mufflers. The tail pipes are 3" that end into 4 inch tips out under the bumper. There is no sound quite like a V10 unleashed!!!!!
The SPD Y-pipe with 3" exhaust pipe (stainless preferable) and
a Flowmaster 70 muffler is in our trucks. This is the perfect
setup that gives you a small boost in power that you can feel.
It also is louder, but not 'loud' with the FM70 series muffler.
You should notice a little bit better fuel mileage too.
Please consider an SCT custom tune, complete intake system,
Thorley long tube Tri-Y headers (or any long tube set-up will do,
for low-mid range power), synthetic oils in the engine & tranny &
air up your tires 5# over filled.
I am going to try 3'' the whole way including cutting out the Y pipe and installing a custom 3" Y pipe then a High Flow stainless Cat also 3", with a bullet race muffler to 4 1/2" tip out the side before the tires. will be done Next week on monday I'll post how it turns out. love it really loud so we'll see
I have a lightning w/ BBK Headers high flow cats and side exhaust I dnt really mind in plus this truck is a long 4 door so it wnt be as bad as the little lightning
