my 1992s ball joints are worn and i need brakes so Ive been looking at the JBG front end rebuild kit, ball joints, ujoints, wheel bearings, spindles, rotors, outer axle shafts, hubs and all in one kit. I am also replacing the axle pivot bushings, anything else I should get to while im in there??
Maybe, but its all in one package, which is nice. I really hate parts stores products most are junk in my opinion. Its cheaper than Ford though which I usually buy my parts from, and its all dana/Spicer stuff which I know is a good product. You do have a point, maybe ill price it out at one. It seems like everytime I go to a parts store I end up going home with the wrong parts, and if I tear things apart ( i only have my bronco) Its a long cold walk to napa. ha
spicer and moog are the products to get which are all available from napa. i just hate paying for shipping. and honestly JBG isnt always the best stuff
Check the kit to be sure if the rotors come with or without the hub. If they're without, they're generally $40+, if they're with, they're what you were priced at, which is $125ish.
If you get rotors, without the hub, you'll have to have your current one pressed out and pressed into the new one, which could cost $$$ as well.
Overall, $600 doesn't seem like a bad price. I think I spent more than that when I got everything separately at Napa.
Do you have the link to the JBG kit you were talking about because I need to rebuild my front end but I can’t find a kit
This is a 16 year old thread... However, I did use the jbg kit a couple years ago. Make sure you know which spindles you have. They changed, I think around 94. The parts I got were decent quality. I originally got the wrong ball joints, but Jeff's customer service was great. They swapped them for me. Look up Jeff's bronco graveyard or Jeff's off-road and search for the kit.
