AOD shuddering

Hello everyone, Im usually in the 1980-1986 truck section but I thought I would come down here to ask a question about my trucks AOD. About a month or two ago my trans started shuddering in overdrive especially, but if I would leave it in normal DRIVE it will shudder some when i accelerate. I added some synthetic trans additive to it and it instantly helped smooth it out and made the shifts smoother. Now its back, and its worse of course. Im going to be doing some pulling with the truck this coming summer so I want the trans to be strong enough to do the job. I normally have 33" tires on it also which I know is another thing that is not good on it but currently for winter I have 31's on it. What would you guys and gals suggest to do? I thought about a c6 but I have really came to like the overdrive in the AOD. Is there a certain problem that could be happening or is the transmission just on its way out?

Ohh, another thing also is that I changed the trans fluid and filter about a year and a half ago and put in the correct dexron/mercon fluid.
