I have a 2004 FX4 Super Crew that started having minor problems about a year ago. It started with the cruise control working intermittently. It seems that the colder the air temperature outside the more likely the cruise control will work. I have replaced the cruise control deactivation switch on the brake pedal twice and it did not solve the problem. I have checked all the fuses and they are good. Also, the daytime running lights, backup lights and fog lamps have stopped working. All these fuses are good too. Any suggestions where to start would be greatly appreciated.
Might also check the switch/solenoid on the back of the brake booster. They make been know to fail and even start fires because brake fuild will start leaking.

This model truck does not have the switch on the brake booster. It has a deactivation switch associated with the brake pedal that is located above the brake lamp switch. I ordered a neutral safety switch today that many had said could be a problem since I can shift into gear without pressing the brake. The ford technician at the dealership also agreed that this could be the problem. Ordered the switch from O'Reillys since Ford wanted twice what they did.
