6x9's won't fit in either location without trimming. 6x8's are factory. I did a Frankstein system consisting of a Sony headunit, Xpoid 150 watt amp under the middle of the 40/20/40 front seat, Pioneer 6.5" two-way rounds in the front door, Pioneer 6x8's three-ways in the rear pillars and a 8" RCA sub in a homemade box behind the seat. Believe it or not, it sounds pretty darn good.
That thing has to absolutely kick butt. I'm still not sure how I'm going to proceed. I'll say this though: This is the absolute longest I've ever owned a vehicle with a stock sound system. I'm either getting old, the truck sounds so good, I don't care about the stereo as much. Or both.

It's all good Joe. I know what you mean. I still drive with it off a lot to "listen to the sounds", however, when the time comes, it's on.
It is Glenn. Strategically ported right to the driver seat lol. Way louder than I really need but I got a deal on the stuff to help out friend of the family who needed the coin for arriving baby.
Have you done this, and do you have any pics showing what you did or how it turned out? Thanks for the info
Yes I have. I don't have a picture of the trimming required, but all you have to do is trim the upper and lower lip inside the radio opening (only visible when the radio is out). You leave the sides so the radio still can snap into place.
Here is a picture of how it turned out, although not perfect, it worked for me........
