I know some of you have rebuilt your own turbos and I have a few questions.
When you rebuilt it did you replace the turbin wheels and shaft.
The repair kit I have found runs around 90 bucks, does this sound about right.
This is without the wheels if you had to replace yours how much were the wheels.
Did you have it balanced if so where do you take it to have it balanced and do you just take the shaft and wheels.
Dave if you notice this can you post those breakdowns of the 085 and 088 again or tell me what thread they were in if you remember. I stored them in my documents but apparently did something wrong, I can't bring them back up.
Are there any tricks to rebuilding it that would be nice to know.
If you need to replace some wheels then i defintley recomend getting it balanced, couldnt hurt it. but i have no idea were you get this done cause i have never done this,
but i do know non wastegated turbos are dead simple to take apart, i took my psd turbo apart to check everything out on, the internals were perfect, but my compressor wheel needs changed i figured i would just get a wicked wheel for it
