Okay so i sucked water into my motor and it seized up. Can't break it loose so I'm gonna tear it down and do a full rebuild and I wanna make some more power. Gas mileage already sucks so might as well get moving faster ha. I'm making this truck into a prerunner/handle good in the dessert and play on some sand dunes. It's a 1996 f-250 regular cab 4x4 7.5L 460 with manual trans all stock...for now. My question is what should I do about heads, cam, piston(compression)suggestions. It would help to see some builds too. I'm looking for around 4-600 horsepower fuel injected and still reliable enough to cruise out 200 miles in the dessert and not leave me stranded. Thanks in advance
That's not for a feul injected build. To be in that horse power range you will need to switch to MAF or go carb. The cheaper easier route would be to throw a carb on it. But if you want to do feul injection look at some of the threads on this site about SD to MAF conversions.
I've been looking into 460 mods for a while now and nothing even near your 600 hp is possible with the stock computer. You'll need to do a MAF conversion and tune the computer, or you'll need to get a 3rd party computer (I'm looking at megasquirt for it "relatively" low price compared to the other options)
