460 Build help

alright im building a motor for my truck. here are my options, i got a complete 85 460 completely stock, i also have 70's 429. my question is what should i go with? im wanting a high compression motor (11.5:1) with a automatic. im shooting for 500hp. if i go with the 460 should i put the 429 heads on it? has anyone built a high compression motor recently? what pistons are best (and cheap) let me know what i should get.

which heads to use?
Cam?
Intake?
Pistons?

You could probably get 500hp with 9.5-10.0/1 compression and run pump gas, why do you want to have more compression? Are you going to run E85 or AvGas?

i just want that sound that high compression gives. also as im not a big block guy, what if anything needs to be done to oiling system to handle higher compression. and do i need to do anything to the heads if i go with the early 70's 429 head, as far as porting?

I would go with the 429, in stock form it is about the compression ratio you want. Cam, INtake, Pistons?? What are you using the engine for ? cruising, racing, etc????

scrap the 429 and build the 460 with the 429 heads.i use trw's 2404 in mine.but the stock heads will need much work to run like you want.i run a comp 294 solid in mine on a 108 cl.really to big but thats what i had laying around and works good with NOS.but with my combo it will put out to the ground 460hp.not at the crank.pm me and i'll send all parts in my motor
