I'm new here, I've done a cursory search, and I need help. I have a 1997 Ford F-350 CC DRW 7.3 with an original E4OD auto transmission. What transmision fluid do I use? Preferably synthetic. Many TIA.

 

"most" truck transmission in the late 1990s and early 2000s used a MERCON fluid. That is being phased out and the newer replacement is MERCON V which is a synthetic oil. YOu can buy at most auto parts places from several manufacturers.

06-14-4***MERCON ATF IS BEING REPLACED BY MERCON V ATF AS A SERVICE FLUID.
